The EU Commission has published a proposal to regulate SEP licensing. The goal of the proposed regulation is to increase transparency about essentiality and FRAND royalties to facilitate SEP licensing. But what are the challenges for SEP licensing and is there empirical data that provides evidence for a SEP licensing market failure?

Join Tim Pohlmann (CEO of IPlytics) for a wide-ranging presentation of the empirical assessment of SEP licensing challenges that he investigated in an economical assessment study. Pohlmann will provide empirical analysis on topics such as: Complexities in SEP Licensing, Uncertainty regarding essentiality and validity, Uncertainty regarding FRAND, Challenges of patent valuation and Complex SEP dispute resolution.
