LES International is an umbrella organization for the 33 national and regional LES Member Societies. Memberships are tied to the LES national or regional societies (generally the society of your country of residence, or a nearby society). See the list of societies here.
For multinational organizations with employees in many countries, LESI offers a Global Group Membership Program (currently available for IP Owners).**
To become a member of LES it is necessary to join one of the LES Member Societies — the society of your country of residence, or a nearby society instead. See the list of societies here.
LES is a professional society for people interested in all aspects of the licensing of technology and intellectual property. Its membership is drawn from a wide range of disciplines and organizations. The diversity of our membership is a defining feature of LES. People from different backgrounds, vocations, cultures and industries comprise the membership. Licensing practitioners, business development specialists, academicians, lawyers, economists and consultants, from industry, universities, public bodies and research institutions and professional firms all find value in LES membership.
As a member of one Member Society, you will be entitled to member pricing at any LES Member Society meeting as well as international meetings. Each year, LESI organizes an Annual Conference and supports the organization of a Pan-European meeting and Pan-Asian Pacific meeting (in those years where the LESI Annual Conference is not held in those regions).
LESI also supports meetings and webinars organized by the various LESI Committees — such as the LESI Life Sciences Committee, the LESI High Technology Committee, LESI Technology Transfer Committee, Young Members Congress and other meetings.
All LES members receive les Nouvelles, the Quarterly Journal of LESI featuring in-depth articles, commentaries and analysis of various licensing, technology and intellectual property issues. Members also receive LESI Global News, the organizations newsletter providing news on society activities. Publications, such as industry focused Royalty Rate and Deal Term Reports, may also be available as part of your LES membership or available for purchase
A significant benefit of membership is access to the LESI the international members directory on the LESI website
LESI has a number of Industry, Practice Area, Professional Development and Regional Committees and encourages members to get involved (particularly if they are leading related committees or efforts in their own LES society). These committees organize activities ranging from providing content for LES meetings worldwide, liaising with public bodies and other professional societies, researching and analysing data on licensing issues, producing educational materials and events to promote knowledge of licensing, and making submissions to legislative bodies and other organizations.
To join your nearest national or regional LES Member Society, the links here will take you to your preferred LES Member Society website and you can contact them directly. Or contact the LESI Administrator at admin@lesi.org for assistance getting connected with a Member Society.
