LESI 2020 Winter Planning Meeting

21 – 23 February in Padua, Italy

On behalf of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), we are delighted to advise that registration is now OPEN for the upcoming LESI Winter Planning Meeting to be held on 21st-23rd February 2020 in Padua, Italy. As per tradition, the WPM is by invitation of the President-Elect, Audrey Yap.

The event is organized by LES in collaboration with the University of Padua, UniSMART, the tech transfer company of the University of Padova, and Padova Convention Bureau, a public office established by the Municipality of Padua with the official aim of increasing the ability to attract tourists and promoting conference in that area. Event Details

Friday 21st February 2020

There will be a day-long, joint UniSMART & LESI seminar (in English) at the University of Padua starting at 9:00am (full programme can be found here).

• Morning session – Access to Intellectual property as a key driver for industry-university collaboration (in English)

The program will include international speakers and promises to be engaging.  Lunch will take place in the city centre (which is close to the University) and will be followed by a tour of the old University of Padua from 2:00pm until 3:00pm (attendees and their guests are invited to join the tour).  The afternoon session will feature speakers from local Italian businesses.

At 6:30pm, a combined cocktail reception is planned (possibly at the University itself, Sala delle Colonne).  At 8:00pm, the LESI will organize dinner at Ristorante Belle Parti (optional but encouraged – $67pp). Please register through the link at the top of the page.

Full-day Winter Planning Meeting with special guest speakers from Academia, Industry and IP Offices.  The day will culminate in drinks and dinner at Café Pedrocchi.

There is a shuttle bus service from Venice airport and you can book your journey here

Location

The venue for the Friday and Saturday meetings will be the University of Padua, the second oldest Italian University (founded in 1222) after Bologna, the oldest University in the world (founded in 1088). Please note that all the venues are in walking distance: Caffè Pedrocchi is located in front of the University.

Padova is strategically located at the heart of the Veneto region. The city’s railway station (Venice is only 30 minutes by train from Padua) and the nearby airports in Venice, Treviso, Verona and Bologna provide excellent connections with the main European cities and further afield. Please click here for information on travelling to Padua. During this time Venice will enjoy its famous carnival from 8th-25th February so please consider extending your trip.
