Aims to keep abreast of developments and anticipated future developments of laws, cases, regulations, trade agreements and other matters which are important for technology transfer in or involving the European Union.

Goals

The goals of the European Committee are the following:

• Develop an Outreach strategy (with assistance from the LESI Board of Directors and External Relations Committee) for contacting and collaborating with relevant professional and business as well as public organizations (such as the European Commission, the European Patent office or the Unified Patent Court) involved with licensing and technology transfer in the EMEA Region as a significant part of their agenda.
• Coordinate with the LESI External Relations Committee to identify relevant target professional organizations in the EMEA region involved with licensing and technology transfer as a significant part of their agenda and to implement the Outreach strategy to make and maintain contact with them and to collaborate on activities with them.
• Organize LES Workshops, Webinars and/or support events that address issues important for professional in the region moderated by the European Committee but comprising presenters from the third-party organizations as well as European LES National Chapters. Such programs should focus on similarities and differences regarding such key issues between the organizations as well as key issues related to licensing policy matters such as practices relevant for TTBER and UPC.
• Propose to organize at least one Workshop or Roundtable at the LESI Annual Conference.
• Secure and sponsor at least one publication in les Nouvelles
• Present briefings and/or materials to the LESI Board of Directors and the LESI Board of Delegates on potential policy submissions and public comments to the European Commission or other relevant EU policy making bodies.
