Dr. Torsten Pfeifer will share valuable insights into Ericsson's approach to building a strong licensing business. He will highlight key factors that have contributed to making license revenues an important part of Ericsson’s overall profitability, enabling the company to re-invest a substantial part of their annual revenue into R&D for the next generation of technology.
Dr. Pfeifer leads an international team of 25 professionals dedicated to operational excellence, innovation and people development in intellectual property rights. With nearly 25 years at Ericsson, he has built extensive experience in managing strategic patent portfolios across diverse domains such as Core & Cloud, Media & OTT, AI, Wi-Fi, and emerging technologies. Torsten directed Ericsson’s Patent Unit in Continental Europe and gained strong expertise in patent filings, prosecution, litigation, and corporate IPR strategies. Before joining Ericsson, he spent four years as an R&D project manager at Daimler. He is European and German Patent Attorney as well as European Patent Litigator. Torsten holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a Diploma in Physics from the Technical University of Aachen.
