LES Asia Pacific – YMC event

The 5th LES Asia Pacific Regional Conference 2014 took place on November 5th and 6th, 2014 in Seoul (Korea). The renowned and prestigious law firm BARDEHLE PAGENBERG again was the initiator and sponsor of an YMC event. Since many years, BARDEHLE PAGENBERG is a strong supporter of YMC to attract new and young members to LESI as well as LES national chapters, offering a great opportunity for networking and attending conferences with highly qualified and interesting speakers.
At the LES USA/Canada meeting in San Francisco in October 2014, Yorck Hernandez of the Munich (Germany) based boutique patent law firm WITTMANN HERNANDEZ, who is vice-chair of the LESI IUGT committee and an active YMC member, promised to Tilman Müller-Stoy of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG, who is Immediate Past Chair of YMC, to join the 5th LES Asia Pacific conference to support him in the YMC activities.
Both, Tilman and Yorck were positively surprised when 40 young members attended the speed networking opportunity on November 5th, 2014, in particular many industry representatives. Thank you guys for attending the speed networking, and for setting a strong sign that Asia is well prepared for hosting a YMC event soon. Tilman and Yorck noticed that there is a strong support for YMC Asia, for example, from Mr. Kim, the president of LES Korea.
In the evening of November 5th, 2014 BARDEHLE PAGENBERG hosted their famous YMC Beer Pitchering event. 70 people attended this event, fortunately also many "members-by-heart". Similar to previous YMC events, all attendees were in high spirits and the bar noted a "loss" of more than 300 beers. Many new friendships are the result of these events, enhancing the work within LES/LESI significantly.
In summary, the first YMC meeting in Asia was a big success, in particular for our great friends from Asia. We feel confident that YMC activities can be further extended. Therefore, it was agreed that there is also going to be YMC activities at the next LES Asia Pacific conference 2015 in Kuala Lumpur.
