Summary of activities (September 2013 – May 2014)
- Appointed regional vice chairs for Americas, Europe, Asia with responsibility for developing connections with LES national societies in those regions on high technology industry issues
- Compiled and added information regarding LES national societies on LESI website that showed the active committees and leaders in the high technology industries in LES national societies
- Conducted outreach to LES national societies to identify existing committees and leaders for each society in the high technology industry areas
- Conducted outreach to LES national societies to obtain appointment of contact person in each LES national society for communications and coordination regarding high technology industry issues
- Conducted outreach to LES national societies to encourage formation of LES national society committees in high technology industries
- Initiated the formation of Industry Advisory Boards of leading companies in the main high technology industry areas including aerospace and transportation, and mobile and consumer electronics, to create industry communities, to provide input on topics and speakers for LES, and to identify issues for LES to address
- Facilitated communications between US/C and Germany transportation committees
- Facilitated communications between US/C and China transportation leaders
- Participated in LES US/C national society high technology committee meetings for the aerospace and transportation committee, and the mobile and consumer electronics committee
- LESI 2014 Annual Conference in Moscow - Provided assistance in arranging plenary and workshop programs and speakers
- LES USA & Canada 2013 annual meeting in Philadelphia - Provided assistance in arranging international workshops and speakers

- LES Mobile and Consumer Electronics Webinars
- Arranging for LES mobile and consumer electronic webinars to be provided to LES national society leaders in various countries, making arrangements for those societies to provide their members the opportunity to hear without cost monthly webinars from leaders in the mobile and consumer electronics industry being organized by LES USC, arranging for the members of those societies to be able to access recordings and materials from those webinars without cost, arranging for the national societies to be able to translate the contents of those webinars, arranging for industry speakers from other national society the opportunity to present in these webinars
- LES Aerospace and Transportation Webinars
- Planning to make the same arrangement for the Aerospace and Transportation Webinars
- Industry Advisory Boards
- Compiling lists of potential members for transportation industry advisory board and consumer electronics industry advisory board
- Reaching out to establish industry advisory board for IT and software
- Understanding the needs of high technology industry members and priorities for LES in meeting those needs
- Continuing communications with industry members and those serving them about their needs in education, networking and otherwise and discussing how LES can best serve the high technology industry
- Studying how to survey leaders in the high technology industries including electronics and transportation to determine their needs and understand how LES can best meet those needs
